Hello, friends!
After a six-month break, Denmark Happenings is finally back! If you’ve been here before, thanks for sticking around ❤ And if you’re new, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.
For the newcomers, I’ll explain how it works — old-timers, feel free to scroll down to the events. This little newsletter is my way of helping you cut through the noise to find some cultural events happening in Denmark. I mostly focus on affordable (or better yet, free!) events because, well, living in this country alone cost a little fortune as it is :) Each event gets a quick shout-out with the date, name, a short description, and the cost. That’s it. If you want more info, you’ll need to click the links. (Think of these as shortcuts to the good stuff.)
And for those of you who are curious, here’s some personal stuff about why I’ve been gone. Honestly, it’s been a mix of things. First, I moved (which is always chaos and I’m sure you can relate). Then I got lazy (you know how that goes too). On top of that, I wasn’t feeling really great, and, well, the world felt heavy — it still does. It’s hard to find joy in sharing when everything feels like a mess. But life, ever so slowly, goes on, and I want to go on, too.
This newsletter has always been a little light for me, and from what I hear, it helps many of you as well. Knowing it helps people connect, discover, and feel more at home in Denmark is pretty damn cool, tbh. So here I am, diving back in to bring you the cultural events this country has to offer.
Finding and listing these events takes a lot of time though. It’s just my lonely self over here, scrolling, researching, and curating. If you enjoy what I share, a little appreciation goes a long way! Send me a message, share the newsletter with a friend, leave a comment from time to time. It means the world.
Also, if you know of any events you think would be great for the newsletter, feel free to reach out! And here’s something new: if you’d like to share your artwork or passion project or something that makes you happy about life in Denmark —an event, a little story, a photo, or anything you want to share with people— send it my way (denmarkhappenings@gmail.com). I’d love to include shout-outs at the end of my newsletters to boost your work or amplify your voice, and to help build a sense of community as well.
I’m glad to be back at it. Let’s dive in, shall we?
