6 new exhibitions, Catalan Film Festival, Reffen opening, Safe events to express yourself...
Hello everyone!
Easter is coming up, so there will be no newsletter for the next two weeks - I'm going on vacation! :) As a result, this week's newsletter covers up to the Week 14, and because not all events are announced this early (and Easter is not the best time for events anyway), this edition's line-up is heavily based on this week. Just a reminder that the Copenhagen Documentary Festival CPH:DOX is still going on and the program is amazing! So, don’t forget to check it out.

March 21: Conversation and Soup — Conventions, taboos, invisible lines are the theme of this talk. It’s also a good opportunity to meet new people. Free entry
March 21: Meet the Swedes — Talks about Sweden related topics specifically for people in the games industry. Free entry
March 21: Bureau for Listening — A gathering and sharing event centered around a listening theme. This week’s theme is the listening body. Free entry
March 22: Science Slam — Scientists explain their research projects. Free entry
March 22: Watercolor Workshop — 300 DKK
March 23: Born Into the 90’s — Club event. 190 DKK
March 23: Collab Release and Tasting — This one’s for cider lovers. Free entry
March 23: Bi The Way Film Night — Film night open for people identifying as Bi+. Free entry
March 23: The Presence of Absence — Photography exhibition by Hrair Sarkissian. 20/40 DKK
March 22-24: Opening Weekend at Reffen — It’s time. Reffen’s opening it’s doors again but the weather’s still very cold to enjoy the best of Reffen if you ask me, nevertheless there will be many DJ sessions in Werkstatt so check it out if that’s your vibe. Free entry (80 DKK after 22:30)
March 23: FindersKeepers — Designer market with more than 200 designers. Ticket prices vary
March 25: The Capitals 100 Years Ago — Silent films from Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen. Subtitles in Danish though. 110 DKK
March 29: 11th Anniversary Party — Mikkeler & Friend's celebrating it’s birthday. Free entry
March 29-31: CPH Art Space 2024 — An art exhibition with all works up for sale. 40-60 DKK
April 4-27: Catalan Film Festival 2024 — An extensive film festival with a focus on Barcelona. 110 DKK
April 6: Disco Drag Show — 150 DKK
April 6: Brus Beer Bazaar — Free entry
April 7: Universal Language — A club event where you can move freely without judgement and express yourself in a safe environment. Starts with a guided movement session and turns into a club environment. Free entry
April 7: Free Intro to Swing — 1 hour free class. Free entry
Until April 20: She Suffers So Much More — This new exhibition borrows its title from the fairytale The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. The works presented deal with bodily manifestations of modification, transformation and of being in between different states. Free entry
Until April 21: Vesterbro - Porten til det Moderne — Prospekt shows new works by nine photographers, all of whom have worked with modernist architecture in Vesterbro. The focus is on the parts of the cultural heritage that are protected, threatened or simply part of Vesterbro's urban space. Free entry
Until April 25: Danish Film 2023 — Last year’s seven best Danish films. 110 DKK
Until April 28: Generation WHY — The chosen artists from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland convey the emotions, experiences, and perspectives of their generation through powerful, moving works. They explore existential themes such as trauma, grief, physical ailments, gender and climate issues using textiles, glass, ceramics, metal, wood, and pigments as materials. 40 DKK including entry fee
Until April 30: On the Spectrum 2024 — A film festival about being on the spectrum, not only about being diagnosed and explicit autism but also “the differences”, and there are also films in the series in which ADHD, Tourette's or other forms of neurodivergence is the main theme. 95 DKK
Until Aug. 10: Press Photo of the Year 2023 — These are awarded to Danish press photographers and the photos reflect most important events of the previous year. 30/75 DKK
Until Aug. 10: Black Diamond 25 years — Exhibition focuses on Den Sorte Diamant as an architectural landmark and a user’s building. 30/75 DKK
