Hellooo everyone,
This newsletter is coming to you at the last possible minute because I only found the time to do some research last night (lovely way to spend a Friday night) and type these words on a Saturday morning. Yes, top of the morning to you too :) So it’s only Copenhagen events again, I’m afraid, but for those of you in the “big” city, you can be sure the events are very diverse, extremely interesting, all in English and pretty affordable, so I’m sure you’ll find at least one or two to your liking. I mean, there are literally 25 of them. Here we go:
21 April: Blues and Swing Workshop — Dive into the world of Lindy Hop and Blues dance, learn the basic steps and techniques. Don’t forget to sign up. Free entry
21 April: German Sparkling Wine Masterclass — This is a wine masterclass within the Tyske Vinedage 2024 festival. The festival ticket costs 300 DKK, but this class is only 90 DKK, and I know the website is in Danish but I think the masterclass will be in English (the importers are probably not Danish, you know).
23 April: Cosy Bailar at Kayak Bar — Cuban salsa intro class and social dancing. 40 DKK
23 April: Chess Club — If you need a quiet evening rather than dancing then you might give this club event a chance. Free entry
23 April: Language & Culture Cafe — Or you can practice your Spanish or Danish at the Central America Commitee’s language cafe. Free entry
23 April: Latin Night on the Rooftop — Another Latin dance night and Salsa workshop open to everyone, no experience needed. Free entry
24 April: Blossom Netwalking — A “talk and walk” event where you’ll meet new people and engage in conversations. Free
24 April: Music Talks — There will be a speaker from a well-known music company and a performance from an up and coming artist. This is a great opportunity to meet like minded people, form contacts in the local industry music scene and enjoy some live music. Free entry
24 April: Volunteer Night 2024 — Would you like to make new friends, gain work experience and practice your Danish skills? At this event you will learn about the countless benefits of volunteering and meet a broad range of organizations offering attractive volunteer positions in Copenhagen.
25 April: All About Rosé — Sommelier Eva Marie will take you for a small tour de Rosé Grece... introduce you to Greek grapes in eight different expressions from eight different wine makers and eight very different geographical locations. 250 DKK
25 April: Open Crafting Space — If the wine tasting event is not your cup of tea, there is a new open creative space where you can bring your own projects and make use of the supplies and the sewing machines at this youth house. Free entry
25 April: MATH Career Night 2024 — Meet MATH alumni and recent graduates. This event presents an excellent opportunity to explore the career paths available to those with a background in Mathematics, Statistics or Math-Econ.

26-28 April: Copenhagen Nightglow 2024 — Hot air balloons will be set up in the evening, they will be inflated and will be luminous. There will be a musical performance - a conductor will orchestrate the music to the light of the balloons.
The event will take place at Rådhuspladsen on either 26, 27 or 28 April between 20.00 and 22.00. It is the weather forecast that determines which day the event will take place. Free
26 April: Friday Night Skate Tour — First roller skate tour of the year. This event is not for beginners, so beware. The theme is “gold and lots of color”. Free
26-27 April: Blackwork Tattoo Convention 2024 — If you are curious about the black tattoo art, you can come and experience the art and craftsmanship behind the dark and Nordic style over two days at Onkel Dannys Plads. Free entry
26 April: Poetry Unleashed — This night’s programme will consist of a mix of poetry, storytelling, spoken word and other acts. You can also participate. All English speaking performers! 50 DKK

26 April: Bedazzle Your Things — Bedazzle your computer, Arduino, headphones, or anything else your heart desires. Organisers will have all kinds of glitter stones, meme stickers, and motivational quotes for those in need (this event might be only for students of the university though, I have no way of knowing unfortunately :). Free entry
27 April: Exhibition Opening & Workshops — The British organization and artist collective Project Art Works opens Residential. The total installation will be an aesthetically inviting space, consisting of works from the artist collective’s collection and a studio where visitors are invited to participate in producing works during the exhibition, where there will also be specially organized workshops. The exhibition is part of a new communication track, which focuses on strengthening wellbeing by supporting creativity in individuals and society. Museum ticket: 120 DKK
27 April: Language Cafe — Recurring event every other Saturday. Learn to speak the languages you’ve always wanted to. The updated list of languages available will be posted under the Discussions tab. Free entry
27 April: Saxogades Loppemarked — Thrift shopping season is upon us :) Free

28 April: Bike Kitchen April 2024 — Is your bike in need of a fix up? You don’t have the tools necessary. Check this bike workshop and get some help! Free
For those looking for a different activity: Find birthday flags in the Botanical Gardens and discover 150 year old plants (22 April - 31 December). This year marks 150 years since the Botanic Garden opened in 1874. For several years leading up to the opening, a lot of plants were found, purchased and cultivated. It is therefore not just the garden’s 150th birthday – it is also the plants’ birthday. It’s free to visit the Botanical Gardens. For the Palmehuset you’ll need a ticket. But the Palmehuset is definitely worth a visit. Palmehuset ticket: 40/70 DKK
That’s it from this week! If you have events you think would benefit from being featured here, you’re more than welcome to send them my way.
I wish you a great week, and hope to see you next Saturday!
